  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 egg, at room temperature
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet and white)
  • 1/2 cup sprinkles

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, sift together flour, cake mix, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  2. Cream softened butter with granulated and brown sugars until creamy. Add egg and vanilla; mix well.
  3. Gradually incorporate dry ingredients into wet mixture until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips and sprinkles.
  4. Cover dough tightly with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  6. Scoop rounded balls of dough onto prepared baking sheets, shaping them taller than wide.
  7. Bake for 13–15 minutes until edges are lightly browned but centers remain soft. Cool on sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
