Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup salted butter (softened)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 1 tablespoon orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • orange zest (optional, for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat softened butter and powdered sugar until creamy. Add ground cardamom and mix well.
  3. Gradually incorporate all-purpose flour until a dough forms.
  4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick and cut into desired shapes. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 15–20 minutes until lightly golden around the edges. Cool on wire racks.
  6. To make the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, orange juice, and milk until smooth.
  7. Once cookies are cool, drizzle or spread the orange glaze over each cookie and sprinkle with orange zest if desired.
