  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup cold, unsalted butter, cubed (16 Tbsp.)
  • 1 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 6 Tbsp. softened butter
  • 2 Tbsp. cinnamon
  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 1/2 cups confectioners sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet.
  2. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, softened butter, and cinnamon to create the filling.
  3. In a large bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cake flour, corn starch, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In a stand mixer, cream cubed cold butter until smooth; gradually add granulated sugar.
  5. Incorporate eggs and vanilla extract into the creamed mixture.
  6. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until fully blended.
  7. Shape the dough into a rectangle on a floured surface and spread the cinnamon filling evenly over it.
  8. Roll the dough into a log shape and slice into 10-12 equal pieces.
