  • 2/3 cup unsalted butter
  • 34 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon alcohol-free vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 35 tablespoons eggnog
  • 12 tablespoons cornstarch (if needed)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, nutmeg, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat softened butter with granulated and brown sugars until fluffy.
  4. Mix in egg yolks, vanilla extract, and eggnog until smooth.
  5. Gradually combine dry ingredients with the wet mixture until just blended.
  6. Scoop dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10 minutes or until edges are lightly golden; cool on a wire rack.
  8. For frosting, cream butter with powdered sugar, nutmeg, vanilla extract, and salt; add eggnog to desired consistency.
  9. Once cooled, frost each cookie generously.
